The Residence and Work Permit (also Single Permit or in Dutch GVVA) is open to third-country nationals with a contract from a Dutch employer. The conditions of work and salary must be those of the collective agreement for the profession in the Netherlands. The employer must arrange housing for the candidate. A number of extra provisions exist for specific professions (e.g. spiritual counselor, employees of international non-profit organisations etc.). The Dutch Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) provides advice on the employment market aspects. The period of validity of the single permit is a maximum of 3 year.
