Cross-border workers are citizens of a state that has a common border with Romania and who live in the border area of ​​the respective state, employed in a border town on the territory of Romania with an individual employment contract for an indefinite period or fixed duration. Workers must return every day or at least once a week to the border area. No specific work permit is required for third country nationals of neighbouring countries based on special agreements.
